Progesterone Testing I recommend that bitches coming to my dogs are progesterone tested prior to mating
Bitches can ovulate anytime from Day 9 to Day 28 so it is beneficial to be sure rather than guess "around day 12"
The vets will offer you a swab test or a smear test but I have found that progesterone blood tests are more accurate
To carry out a blood test these are the options I would recommend:
Google a local Fertility clinic near you and they will do the test and give you the results within an hour
Clinic below will give results within half an hour
